Jean-Francois Lazartigue is internationally recognised as a specialist for hair care treatments. He began his career as a hairdresser and opened his first salon in 'Rue de Courcelles' in Paris in December 1963.
He has always been extremely enthusiastic, fascinated by hair and hairdressing techniques. This led him to create a new gentle straightening device that leaves hair soft and supple.
By 1972 his salon had established itself as prominent in Paris for relaxing the coarsest textures of hair. Today it is still a favourite for editors and the most demanding clients.
Jean-Francois Lazartigue is really passionate about hair. This passion made him willing to create his own products to repair, care, protect and embelish hair.
In 1976 the brand J.F.Lazartigue was born with tremendous innovative products. The first ones were:

- He considers the scalp as an extension of the skin. He is the first to use the same ingredients significant in the use of skin care lines (AHA, collagen, vitamins).
- He developed a Hair Washing Cream with Collagen that has a strong rebalancing effect on the scalp and reinforces the structure of the hair shafts.
- He introduces consumers to hair protection against external aggressions. His 'summer duo' is a premiere; it includes an After Swimming Shampoo (taking out salt and chloride traces) and a Protective Hair Milk. This contains a sunscreen that protects your hair from the damaging, drying effects of the sun.
- In 1982 he created Colouring Emulsion for Grey Hair. This was the first permanent colour with no ammonia and no peroxide. This 100% grey coverage leaves hair undamaged.
