About Hair Loss
WHAT EXACTLY IS HAIR LOSS?
A reasonable loss of hair is perfectly normal. We actually lose between 30 and 60 strands of hair per day. Our hair follows a permanent renewal process. Each hair shaft experiences a life cycle and is eventually replaced by another.
THE HAIR LIFE CYCLE
Even though hair loss is a normal condition, we do have a limited amount of hair shafts growing from each bulb. In most cases, a 40-year-old woman has experienced a 20% decrease of her hair volume. It is therefore important that our hair is well looked after.
Any severe hair loss should NOT remain untreated.
Losing more than 100 hair shafts a day becomes alarming. Even before the initial signs of hair loss become apparent, j.f. lazartigue recommends to examine your hair regularly (every 3 months) and if necessary, start a preventive treatment. The best is to combine appropriate internal treatment (nutritional) as well as external (treatment of scalp imbalances).
Of course we are not all equal towards hair loss, and some of us are naturally prone to hair loss and experience it chronically. Additionally, external factors have major influences on our hair life cycle.
Severe hair loss may occur following an aggression or shock to our system. Stress, illness, childbirth, insufficient rest, poor diet, pollution, tobacco and also hormonal secretions are all factors that may affect our metabolism. Our hair becomes fragile and fine, increasing the risk of hair loss. Sebaceous glands begin to overwork causing it to produce excessive oil secretion. This seborrhea makes our scalp oily and/or prone to dandruff. Irritation and excessive oiliness makes us lose volume and body. Even worse, our roots are deprived of oxygen leading to substantial hair loss.
Hair loss is a sign of serious imbalances in our system. It is necessary to understand which type of problem you are facing before choosing your treatment. Seborrhea should be treated in addition to any hair nutrition in order to get serious and durable improvements.
Seasonal change should not be neglected. Spring and autumn is a time for hair renewal. Climate variations definitely influence our body: we shed up to 25% of our hair in the fall and winter. The best thing to do is help our roots with necessary nutritional elements and plan ahead.
That is why j.f. lazartigue recommends a preventive treatment to strengthen hair when it needs it most.
Hair loss can be halted by specific treatment. Hair loss can be psychologically destabilizing, so treat the problem before it becomes serious. j.f. lazartigue aims at having a deep action by associating the internal action of nutrients and the external application of appropriate products.
